UPS, one of the nation’s largest package delivery companies in the U.S. has been in negotiations with the Teamsters Union representing the package delivery workers. UPS has a location in Uvalde on Lou Stroop Drive at the Uvalde Business Industrial Park where local workers sort and deliver packages for the Uvalde County area.
According to the latest Axios Market Newsletter:
“Axios Markets Situational awareness: Shipping giant UPS and the union that represents 340,000 of its workers are headed back to the negotiating table tomorrow, with just one week before their current contract expires. If the parties don’t come to terms, the union has said it’ll strike, which would deliver a big blow to the economy and represent one of the largest work stoppages in decades.”
UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) are negotiating a new National Master Agreement (NMA) for about 330,000 of our U.S. employees, as well as supplemental agreements that cover specific local areas of the country.

According to UPS Negotiations:
