Free News Project

The Free News Project

The Uvalde Hesperian is a free online local news magazine that features news and commentary about Uvalde, Uvalde County and the surrounding Southwest Texas Area.

Thousands of people each month turn to the Uvalde Hesperian to quickly get the current news and up-to-date information.

While the news is free, the reporting of the news isn’t.  The Uvalde Hesperian does not believe the reader should pay for the news.  Because the Uvalde Hesperian is published online, the audience numbers and page views data are measurable meaning advertisers can know how many people are seeing their ads and clicking on them.

By offering the news free, the news is made accessible to all socioeconomic levels, it makes  it possible for everyone to be informed about what’s going on with Uvalde City and County governments, Uvalde CISD,

El Progreso Memorial Library, local non-profits. Also the Uvalde Hesperian offers real-time news reporting at Uvalde CISD board meetings.

For those who believe in the Uvalde Hesperian mission of offering Free News to the people, sponsorships are now available.

Contributions to the Uvalde Hesperian make it possible to not only cover the news, but to enable the Uvalde Hesperian to expand its coverage offering new features for the citizens of Uvalde County.

Contributors who give at the $500 level will receive one “I support the Free News Project.” T-Shirt and a special banner ad for one month near the top of the Uvalde Hesperian website.

Contributors who give at the $100 level will receive one “I support the Free News Project.” T-Shirt

Contributors who give at least $10 dollars will be recognized on a special “I make Free News Possible” post on the Uvalde Hesperian Facebook Page.
