Volunteers work with Kaboom! to finish new playground Construction at Esperanza Park

After completing the Del Leon Park Project on October 15, 2022 Kaboom! Vice President Jennifer De Mello, Project Manager Bicki Rudd along with the CarMax Foundation, the City of Uvalde and the Rotary Club of Uvalde members and volunteers from other organizations in the  community worked at Esperanza Park Thursday April 20th to complete the three day project to build a new community playground.

The Esperanza Park Playground was a three day project with groundwork and site preparation being done on Tuesday, April 18th, and Wednesday, April 19th with about 30 volunteers working on those two days.

On Thursday, April 20th, close to 100 volunteers arrived at the park at 8 AM and would work to assemble the playground features, shovel sand and munch, paint, sand and work to complete the assembly by 4:30 PM that same day.

Uvalde Memorial Hospital provided a first aid tent at the site on Thursday.

Numerous businesses and organizations donated breakfast and lunch for those working on the Park.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was planned at the end of the build that Thursday afternoon,
