Knippa transformer fire causes power outages and traffic as school starts

The Knippa Volunteer Fire Department, The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Department and AEP were on the scene before 7:30 am this Monday morning responding to a transformer fire near the Knippa School on Kessler Lane near FM 1049. The incident caused Kessler Lane to be temporarily closed and school drop-off traffic was rerouted.
