Yesterday, the Uvalde Memorial Hospital hosted the annual Women’s Health Expo, which consisted of two sessions.
During the morning session, a light brunch was served followed by questions and answer period facilitated by hospital representatives. This portion of the expo was free to the public.
The second session was packed with all kinds of goodies from an array of different vendors who participated in the event. The Civic Center had 200 attendees throughout the day.
After dinner was served, a Physicians Panel was held that included five local doctors, cardiologist Dr. Jamil Bitar, hematologist Dr. Matthew Peterson, general practitioner and obstetrician Dr. David C. White, radiologist Dr. Jared Reading, and surgeon Dr. Sandra Boenig.
The night ended with the keynote speaker Dr. Amy Shah, a renowned doctor and nutrition specialist, works to discover less invasive interventions, promote wellness, and teach others how to impact their health via nutrition and exercise – using medication as a last resort,” according to a UMH news release.
