Amy Franco and Vincent Salazar criticize board for its failure to release all of the Public Records pertaining to the Robb Elementary School tragedy

School Board Meeting Robb School Teacher Amy Franco and survivor of the May 24th, 2025, tragedy delivered scolding words to the Uvalde CISD trustees during the public comments portion of Monday’s August 25th School Board meeting. Franco said, “You asked us to trust you, but how can we?” referring to public records the district has withheld from release even after, in a previous school board meeting, the Board voted to release the records after an State of Texas appellate court ruled in favor of the plaintiff parties which included the Texas Tribune and other media outlets.
“The Uvalde CISD police officers did not have body cameras on May 24th, 2022 according to Mr. Robb Decker of Walsh Gallegos Law Firm 8,600 emails and 26.000 pages that will be coming according to Uvalde CISD Trustee Jaclyn Gonzales.
Decker stated Texas DPS has possession of hallway footage and the district doesn’t have it.
Trustee Jesse Rizo stated that early in that process regarding public records, Attorney Katie Payne kept district in the dark on specific records being discussed for release

Attorney Robb Decker said it would take time to release many of the emails and other records because private information will need to be redacted as that takes time. He went on to say that more records are set to be released next week on Wednesday.
