City of Uvalde live-stream was broadcast without sound for a majority of the meeting

The City of Uvalde City Council meeting on August 25th was live-streamed to the public. For one hour, 29 minutes and 18 seconds the video played without audio. The entire meeting lasted approximately two hours and 8 minutes.
After City of Uvalde Police Chief Homer Delgado finished addressing the council members, the first sound heard in the video was “ Thank you, Chief”
The entire City Council meeting lasted for 2 hours, 7 minutes and 31 seconds. After Chief DELGADO’s report to the Council, the governmental body approved three purchases for equipment for the Uvalde Police Department. Following those actions,
Uvalde Mayor Hector R. Luevano announced at 7:30PM the Council was convening into executive session. Following the executive session announcement, the live stream audio once again went silent as the video feed showed the following message “We’ll be right back!””
At the 2:05 time stamp of the video, the council returned to the council chamber and the live-stream audio was on again. Mayor Luevano announced “ At 8:04 PM, the council has reconvened back into regular session to consider action, if any on matters discussed in executive session.”
At 8:05PM the council adjourned.
Residents who could not attend in person—working parents, seniors, the disabled—were left watching silent footage of officials conducting public business.
Update from the publisher: I spoke with City of Uvalde Hector Luevano this morning, and he said that they are aware of the issue and after talking with the cities IT person they believe it was a network issue. He did say that the city has acquired some new AV equipment and they did test it out prior to the meeting last night.
They are taking the matter seriously to try to find ways to fix future problems.
