Earlier this month on March 20th, 2026, the Uvalde Hesperian reached out to Knippa ISD about a possible accident that occurred involving a Knippa ISD school bus. The Hesperian received this report from Knippa ISD Police Chief Rube Rodriguez:
“On May 12, 2026 at approximately 0710hrs, we had a Knippa ISD School bus, that was transporting students to school, involved in a minor incident at the intersection of FM 1049 and East Main Street in Knippa Texas.
The incident involved a school bus and a pickup truck. None of the students on the bus had major injuries. The children were transported to the school where they were evaluated by the school nurse and their parents were contacted.
Three students that were on the bus were transported to a physician by their parents for further evaluation. No major injuries were later reported. The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and once the report is given to me.”
