UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the union representing about 330,000 UPS employees in the U.S., have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement.

“Together we reached a win-win-win agreement on the issues that are important to Teamsters leadership, our employees and to UPS and our customers,” said Carol Tomé, UPS chief executive officer. “This agreement continues to reward UPS’s full- and part-time employees with industry-leading pay and benefits while retaining the flexibility we need to stay competitive, serve our customers and keep our business strong.”

The five-year agreement covers U.S. Teamsters-represented employees in small-package roles and is subject to voting and ratification by union members.

  UPS, one of the nation’s largest package delivery companies in the U.S. has been in negotiations with the Teamsters Union representing the package delivery workers. UPS has a location in Uvalde on Lou Stroop Drive at the Uvalde Business Industrial Park where local workers sort and deliver packages for the Uvalde County area. 

According to the latest Axios Market Newsletter:

 “Axios Markets Situational awareness: Shipping giant UPS and the union that represents 340,000 of its workers are headed back to the negotiating table tomorrow, with just one week before their current contract expires. If the parties don’t come to terms, the union has said it’ll strike, which would deliver a big blow to the economy and represent one of the largest work stoppages in decades.”
