KUB’s November Yard of the Month goes to Melvin and Paula McBeth   Their “Antique House” on Main Street has a long, rich history.  Melvin maintains the huge yard that has many plants and beautiful trees; one of which is a producing pear tree that is nearly 100 years old!  Thank you both for your hard work, and for Keeping Utopia Beautiful!

Press Release from Keep Utopia Beautiful

Keep Utopia Beautiful is pleased to announce the winner of its

October Yard of the Month Award. The $50 award was presented
to Barbara Smith on Johnson Street. Barbara is pictured with KUB
Board Member, Anne Woodley. Barbara has worked very hard on
her yard, with her cousin’s help since she moved into her home
last November. She and her cousin have worked to clean and add
so many beautiful plants! She has an abundance of bees,
butterflies and hummingbirds, which enjoy the plants, as well!
Thank you Barbara, for Keeping Utopia Beautiful!!
Keep Utopia Beautiful plans to make a monthly award in spring,
summer, and fall months going forward.

Pictured with the August Yard of the Month winner, Roy Grant, is KUB Board Member, Anne Woodford.

Roy grew up and went to school in Utopia.  Last year, Roy and his wife Kathy, returned here and built a lovely home.  Surrounding their home is a beautiful garden, with tomatoes, green beans, bell pepper and peach trees, to name a few!

There are many different flowering plants around their home to support their bee hives.  Roy and Kathy have created a showplace and they have more planned in the future!  Thank you both for Keeping Utopia Beautiful!

  If you are wondering what’s going on at the “Y,” it is a very Merry Christmas present for Keep Sabinal Beautiful and the Sabinal community!

KSB is so grateful for the gif and collaboration with KUB.  There will be homage paid to Utopia in the structure for their goodwill.
