Austin church plans three Sunday afternoon events in December culminating with a special Christmas Musical Presentation

After countless hours of preparation and rehearsals, Pastor Eddie E. Willis, Sr. and members of the New Covenant Church based in Austin, Texas are bringing three different programs of music and the message as well as shoebox gifts for area children.

“God put it on our hearts to bring the Christmas programs there,” Willis said. Willis came to Uvalde following the May 24th tragedy and he participated with the Uvalde Ministerial Alliance in 10 days of prayer.

He explained how he saw how things transpired. He and his church felt they needed to do something to help provide comfort and healing to grieving souls here in Uvalde.

The three part series begins this Sunday, December 4th at the El Progreso Memorial Library at 4PM where a 50 member choir and praise band will be presenting a Christmas Musical Concert.

On Sunday, December 11th, the New Covenant Church will be at the Herby Ham Activity Center for Operation Christmas Gift, a Christmas gift distribution starting at 3 PM. According to Willis, the church has worked to pack 500  shoe boxes with small gift items for area children.

Then on Sunday, December 18th, the church will present  The Light of the World. a Christmas Musical Presentation starting at 3 PM at the Ssgt. Willie de Leon Civic Center. According to Willis, this presentation will consist of the Biblical account of the  birth of Jesus Christ mixed with related songs.

Willie stated that there have been countless hours of rehearsals and preparations made to bring these programs to Uvalde. In addition to the 50 member choir and musicians, the church is bringing a stage, a sound and video crew to Uvalde.
