During the public comments portion of the Tuesday, December 10th meeting of the Uvalde City Council, Emma Trimble and Glenn Fortner spoke against a program at the Opera House, Ghosts of Texas with the Klinge Brothers.  According to Fortner, he indicated the program was rescheduled for October although the program  is still scheduled for Saturday, January 11th, 2024, according to the Uvalde Grand Opera House website.

“Today, I am going to share something in the natural, secular realm as well as in the spiritual and supernatural realm. I want to share that my intention is not to bring a word of condemnation or rebuke, but of encouragement and love from the desire of God to bring blessing upon our community and to inform you of some of the aspects according to the Bible that will hinder God’s desire to be fully experienced by us as a community. Specifically speaking of the now rescheduled program of directors that are planning to come to Uvalde that have rented the Opera House to film segments of their program on the alleged ghosts that dwell at the Opera House and they are going to air that in or on a program called Ghost Stories of Texas.

She went on to talk about a separate VIP event after the show bringing a psychic medium to perform her psychic abilities that VIP members can participate in.

“There are numerous Biblical scriptures that warn against communicating with the dead, also called a seance, which is a meeting at which people attempt to make contact with the dead especially through the agency of a medium. All throughout scripture we see the practice of such activities not only remove God’s hand of blessing over his people, but Scripture actually tells us that it can actually invoke a curse,” Trimble said.

According to information on the program on the Uvalde Grand Opera House Website it states: “They also will be bringing their close friend and psychic/medium Dana Stricker for a special VIP event after the show to learn about her psychic abilities during an actual investigation of the haunted opera house that you can participate in! ”

“Especially across the street, from where the crosses of our beautiful children are still.” Trimble said.

Pastor and business owner Glenn Fortner also spoke on the matter. He said, “I would like to make mention that America was originally founded on the principles of God’s Word and faith in the Lord. Historical evidence proves that free societies that did not honor God had His favor removed and ultimately, they failed. In contrast those that honored the Lord prospered.”

“Not standing up against the event and looking the other way would be as harmful as supporting it wholeheartedly,” he said.

Fortner continued urging the Council to be proactive by implementing policies that restrict events that glory death, darkness and demonology.”

Peace Ministries Founder and President Emma Trimble spoke to the Uvalde County Commissioners Court today prior to the 2023-2034 County Budget vote asking for financial support for the Parent Project

Trimble presented the Parent Project to the Uvalde City Council on July 25th requesting funding from the City.  According to Trimble, Mayor Don McLaughlin has shown support for the effort.  The Parent Project website states the following: “Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior” is an award-winning intervention model addressing the most destructive of adolescent behaviors. We know of no other program that addresses it all: truancy, drugs, runaways, media, early teen sex, violence, gangs . . . Parent Project Senior promises concrete answers for every parent question asked.”

In her address at this morning’s Uvalde County Commissioners. She asked that the County partner with the City to bring the Parent Project to Uvalde.

Trimble stated while there is currently a lot of counseling services available to parents and students, something more than the clinical approach addressing mental health is needed as she claims parents need tools and training for dealing with troubled teens.

In times of crisis, leaders lead.  As our community approaches the traumatic anniversary of May 24, city
and county leaders stood shoulder to shoulder for restoration and healing, pointing all of Uvalde to our
heavenly Father, the Divine Healer.

It started Thursday May 4th when Mayor Don McLaughlin and Judge Bill Mitchell embraced and
proclaimed a National Day of Prayer to ask God for His mercy and favor. Believers across our nation and
our county congregated that day, imploring God to do what only He can.

Rain and inclement weather could not detour Uvalde believers, united in faith, standing for healing and restoration.
“Our God has always been and will continue to be faithful to His people when they call upon Him no
matter the circumstances,” said Emma Trimble, President of Peace Ministries and Coordinator of
National Day of Prayer.  “2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us that if we humble ourselves and seek His face, turn
from our sin, He will hear us, forgive us, and heal our land. This is a well-known scripture among
Christians, but one has to wonder if we’ve missed the importance of being doers of the scriptures, not
merely hearers. However, Uvalde believers are being used by the creator of the universe to bring about
His will of hope and healing.”

Trimble continued, “I am thankful for committed, immovable intercessors standing strong for Uvalde! I
believe God is pleased,” she said.  “May we continue to draw near to Him and He to us!” Trimble exhorts
all believers to pray without ceasing through and beyond May 24. “Let us call upon our God for the
families of Uvalde affected by this horrific trauma, and for those carrying this unimaginable pain and
sorrow. May they, and we, find healing, peace, and hope for better days. May we walk with compassion
and understanding, resting in communion with our maker.   As Jesus says in Matthew chapter 11, “Come
to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”  God the Father, the Son, and
Holy Spirit long to give us the Peace that passes understanding and the restoration that only He can
bring!”
