Tonight Uvalde All Stars baseball won 3 championships in Pleasanton.

Just before 2 PM today a large bull was seen loose on Highway 90 approximately about a one and a half miles east of the Uvalde City Limits. The bull was spotted by the Uvalde Hesperian walking west in the east bound bar ditch as two trucks followed the bull.  After a few minutes of one of the drivers attempting to block the path of the bull, the bull was seen entering the highway slowing down traffic. A few minutes later the DPS patrol car arrived on the scene.

According to Sheriff Rubin Nolasco, he said he was told the bull escaped from the Regal Meat Market.

A driver who contacted the Uvalde Hesperian said she the bull charge a man who was standing on the highway trying to warn approaching vehicles about the bull.

“When we pulled up we saw a cop car and pedestrian truck pulled into the middle lane and traffic was stopped. We then saw the bull coming across the highway, the man was behind his truck and was running to the other side of the highway to warn oncoming cars while waving his arms. The bull noticed him and ran into him. It made him fly from the back corner of his truck to the front and he was knocked out. The bull then took off into a field,” the driver said.

About an hour later, Uvalde Police dispatch stated the bull had successfully been contained.

The condition of the man struck by the bull is currently unknown.

According to an exclusive report by CNN, in an interview with Uvalde City Mayor Don McLaughlin, Lt. Mariano Pargas who was the acting police chief the day of the Robb School Massacre will no longer be employed by the City of Uvalde Police Department by the end of the week.

  According to the CNN Report,

“Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin said he was outraged by the actions of Lt. Mariano Pargas whom a CNN report showed failing to organize help for children he knew were trapped with a gunman.

‘Lt. Pargas will not be a member of the Uvalde police department. At the very latest at the end of the week, if not sooner,’ he told CNN on Tuesday.

Mayor Don McLaughlin said that should have started the ball rolling, but it didn’t.”

 This report comes a week after Uvalde County Commissioner Mariano Pargas was reelected for his seat on the Uvalde County Commissioner’s Court.

KSAT 12 News has reported a major crash with 2 fatalities and 10 injured occurred at the intersection of Main Street (Highway 90) and Getty Street (US Hwy 83 ) which occurred at approximately 6:30 PM this evening.

“According to police, the crash involved migrants, but further details are limited. Authorities closed off the intersection shortly after the crash as officers canvassed the scene.”  The report says.

   The Special Texas House Committee met with the media this afternoon at 4 PM at the Ssgt. Willie de Leon Civic Center at 4 PM today for a special press conference following the preliminary investigation report released earlier today. Following the May 24th, Robb Elementary School Shooting the Texas House of Representatives commissioned a special committee to investigate the Robb School Massacre. This committee met behind closed doors reviewing the evidence and interviewing officers, witnesses and other information. 

   At 1:30 PM today, the three person committee met briefly in the Cactus Room of the Civic Center to accept the preliminary report. 

  The press conference today was attended by TV stations from around the state as well from national news affiliates. Before the press conference began, Alfred Garza III asked the House Press Director if parents could also ask questions to the panel along with the media. He was told the family members had a chance to ask questions at the special meeting for them held earlier in the day. Garza then said he was kicked out of that meeting and reporters soon approached him with cell phone cameras and microphones wanting to hear what happened. Garza later stated his name was not on the list of family members and was escorted out. 

  Later after the House Press conference concluded Mayor Don McLaughlin arrived and sat down in the center of the press conference table. McLaughlin told the press the City of Uvalde has decided to go ahead with its own investigation into the Uvalde Police Department and will move to release body camera video from the officers. He also stated that Lt. Mariano Pargas, the acting City Police Chief during the Robb School Shooting, was suspended following the state’s probe findings. Mariano Pargas is running for Uvalde County Commissioner on the November ballot. McLaughlin continued by saying the 38th District Attorney Busbee was not following through with her directives and warnings about keeping investigation details from being released.  Previously the Mayor stated that Busbee has warned him and other City Council members not to disclose any information on the ongoing investigation or conduct its own investigation of the City’s Police Department and if they did, they could face criminal charges for obstruction of justice.
