Hundreds of people showed up for the Uvalde High School Bonfire outside the Honey Bowl Wednesday evening, October 30th following the Homecoming Parade. The Uvalde High School band played just before the big UHS letters and the accumulated cardboard pile were lit.

As the fire grew, many students near the pile could be seen holding up cell phones taking pictures and video of the scene.

Just across the street from the Honey Bowl, long lines of people were seen just outside Crossroads Community Church for the free snow cones being given away.

The Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department was on hand with their big tower truck parked near the field where the bonfire was located.

Police cars could be seen down Getty Street with their red and blue lights on while bonfire attendees wearing Homecoming mums cross a nearby street to the field.
