Saturday night accident shuts down Highway 55 near CR 404: AirLife called in.

  An accident involving at least two vehicles resulted in first responders shutting down Highway 55 near the intersection of County Road 404 for over an hour.

An Airlife helicopter was seen arriving approximately 40 minutes after the accident occurred as neighbors residents stood outside and observed.

A dark colored SUV was seen on its side on the westbound bar ditch next to a detached bed of a white Chevrolet pickup truck.

The Uvalde Hesperian interviewed two groups of neighbors and no-one observed the accident occurring.

According to a timeline posted by Constable Emmanuel Zamora on his Facebook Page, EMS and Fire arrived on at 7:25 PM and a two AirLife Helicopters were called.

8:05 PM – One helicopter 🚁 has landed. Second helicopter cancelled. ROAD is CLOSED.
8:36 PM – Medical helicopter has departed the scene headed to an SA hospital.
8:45 PM – Roadway BACK OPEN! Drive safely.
