A work truck collided with the eastbound guardrail over the Highway 90 Taylor Slough bridge late this afternoon before 5 PM today Tuesday, May 7th. Several Uvalde Police units responded to the accident using the police cruisers to block the two eastbound lanes diverting traffic to the center turn lane. A Uvalde EMS ambulance arrived on the scene as well. It is not known if anyone was injured in the accident or what caused the accident.
The Uvalde Hesperian spoke with a man who was mowing grass in the slough on the opposite side of the bridge. He said he heard a loud crashing before he went to investigate.
An employee with Ace Hardware told the Hesperian that a few weeks ago, the guard rail on the opposite side of the bridge was damaged in another accident.
