Many Frio River goers were seen in Concan this past Friday and Saturday loading up pickup trucks with tubes and heading to the Third Crossing to get in some last minute fun in the sun before the month of August arrives.
Even though Summer won’t be officially over until September 23rd when the Fall begins, many students involved in athletics, cheerleading, drill team, band, and other extracurricular activities will be heading back to school in August for practices well before the classroom bell or signal rings. Traditionally that means during the weekdays, there are less people seen on the river and golf course during the month of August. Weekends are generally still busy until after Labor Day weekend.
Cooler fall temperatures don’t usually break in until sometime in October in Southwest Texas.
