UVALDE, TX – A outdoor tornado warning siren system test originally scheduled for May 15 was postponed due to weather. The new testing date is Monday, June 19, 2023.

Tests will be conducted randomly throughout the day, clear weather permitting.

Radio technicians will be checking for radio communication and sound activation at each tower site. Uvalde currently has five tornado sirens throughout the city.

Tower sites include:
– Downtown Fire Department (Central)
– North Camp & Hacienda Rd. (North side)
– Lou Stroup Dr. (East side)
– Water Treatment Plant (County Rd. 106 / Southside)
– Jardin de los Heroes Park (Westside)

The quarterly test of the outdoor tornado warning siren system is conducted to identify issues at tornado siren sites so they can be corrected as soon as possible.
