SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will host the South Texas Collegiate Classic, a three-day collegiate rodeo event, March 5–7, 2026, at the Freeman Coliseum. The event brings together 450 student-athletes from seven Lone Star Region colleges—Tarleton State University, Angelo State University, Cisco College, Ranger College, Sul Ross State University, Vernon College, and Weatherford College—for a weekend of high-level competition and community celebration.
“Collegiate rodeo in the Lone Star Region has a long tradition of blending competition, education, and community,” said Cody Davenport, Executive Director & CEO of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. “The South Texas Collegiate Classic is a chance to shine a spotlight on these student-athletes—their dedication in the arena, their commitment to education, and the stories they create along the way. It’s a weekend that celebrates both Rodeo event season and the next generation of leaders.”
The event schedule includes daytime slack rounds and ticketed evening performances on Friday and Saturday starting at 7:00 pm, with Thursday night open to the public. Tickets for Friday and Saturday are $20. 12 and under are free. Attendees will see a full range of rodeo events, from barrel racing to bull riding, while enjoying an intimate, community-focused experience.
