Uvalde CISD announces the immediate resignation of School Board President Cal Lambert. He has served on the Uvalde CISD school board since November 2020 but has chosen to step down for personal and health-related reasons, effective May 27, 2025.

Mr. Lambert held an At Large term that was scheduled to expire in May 2028. Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in advancing educational initiatives and supporting the students and staff of Uvalde CISD. The district is deeply appreciative of his leadership and contributions.

With a remarkable 56 years of combined service to our country and school community, Cal Lambert’s experience spans the military, teaching, and the school board. Unfortunately, due to significant exposure to toxic chemicals and combat conditions during his time in Vietnam, he has faced serious health challenges in recent months. Following his doctors’ advice and considering the best interests of his family, the board, and himself, he has decided to resign.

Details regarding the process to fill the vacancy left by Mr. Lambert’s resignation will be announced in due course.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cal Lambert for his outstanding service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
