Uvalde Together Resiliency Center’s Jesus “Jesse” Ramon LPC will be the guest speaker at a ceremony this Thursday at the Uvalde American Legion 479 Hall at 10 AM honoring Vietnam Veterans.
Ramon contacted the Uvalde Hesperian and discussed the issues and challenges Vietnam Veterans continue to struggle with decades after returning home from war.
“We need to honor our veterans. I am going to invite them to come to counseling,”
“We have our freedom because of them. I am going to talk about the importance of their service and how it has affected our mental health,” he said.
He continued saying that we need to educate the community on how we can honor and help them.
“I want to use the opportunity to connect and help our veterans and see if by working with their issues they can help us rebuild our community by then having a new purpose
I am going to have a heart to heart conversation not just a presentation,” Ramon said
Ramon went on to say the Uvalde Together Resiliency Center wants to help Vietnam Veterans and all veterans with issues like PTSD and other challenges they continue to face.
