We’re excited to share our upcoming events for November at El Progreso Memorial Library!
Monthly Highlights:
  • Weekly Programs:
    • Children’s Story Hour – Every Wednesday at 10:30 am. Join Miss Martha and guest readers for an engaging storytelling session, available both in-person and on Facebook.
    • Crafter-noon – Every Wednesday at 5 pm. This month, we’re focusing on seasonal decorations and DIY crafts like Macrame plant hangers and Cricut crafts! Supplies are provided. (No session on November 27th.)
    • Game Night – Every Thursday at 5 pm. Play Dungeons & Dragons, Monopoly, Scrabble, Uno, and more. A great way to unwind with friends and family. (No session on November 28th.)
    • El Progreso Club – Every second Thursday at 12 pm. Join this historic club to learn about various topics.
    • Uvalde Historical Society – Every third Thursday at 5:30 pm. Preserve and share the local history of Uvalde.
    • Daughters of the American Revolution – Las Encinas Chapter – Every third Saturday at 10 am.
    • Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas (CBCST) – Smart and Art – Every second Saturday at 10 am. A supportive, art-based activity for young participants.
Special Events:
  • Texas Storytime Finale – November 5 at 5 pm. Don’t miss the final session of Texas Storytime!
  • Medicare Enrollment Session – November 12 at 10 am. A chance for our patrons to receive information and assistance.
  • Insurance Session – November 15 at 10:30 am. A chance for our patrons to receive information and assistance.
  • Kathleen Maxwell-Rambie Grief Seminar – November 13 & 19 at 6 pm. This seminar provides resources and support for those navigating grief.
  • San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo: Grateful Gathering – November 23 at 10 am. Join us for a heartwarming event where community, creativity, and gratitude come together! Dive into a variety of hands-on crafting activities, each designed to help express gratitude and appreciation.
  • Thanksgiving Closures – November 11, 27–30. The library will be closed for staff training on the 11th and in observance of Thanksgiving from the 27th to the 30th.
