Uvalde Police Respond to Physical Altercation and Shooting Incident

On October 5, 2024, at approximately 1:44 AM, the Uvalde Police Department responded to a physical altercation involving several individuals. As officers were en route, Uvalde Police Dispatch received additional information that shots had been fired at the scene.
Upon officers’ arrival, the area was secured, and a single victim was identified with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was treated at the scene and later transported to a hospital in San Antonio for further care. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were not life-threatening.
