At their Thursday, June 27th meeting, the Uvalde County Republican Party voted to approve Mario Valdez as the party’s candidate to run for the Justice of the Peace Precinct 6 seat.
Valdez is the owner of EMS Small Engine Repair in Uvalde.
Ernesto “NETO” Luna who was serving as the County’s Justice of the Peace Precinct 6 died on April 6th, 2024 leaving a vacancy for the seat.
The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met on April 23rd where a decision was made not to appoint a person for the seat but rather to let the parties choose candidates to run for the position in the November 5th, 2024 General Election.
