A test is scheduled to take place during business hours on Monday, June 24, weather permitting. Technicians will assess audio and radio communication at various siren sites including Uvalde Industrial Park, Water Treatment Center, Jardin de los Heroes Park, 1700 N Camp St., and the downtown fire department. These sirens are tested quarterly and every third Monday of the month at 6 p.m., weather permitting.

These routine tests are essential to ensure that the emergency alert systems are fully operational and can effectively warn the public in the event of an actual emergency. Residents may hear a series of loud siren sounds lasting for several minutes.

Please do not be alarmed; this is only a test. If you have pets or small children, it might be a good idea to bring them indoors during the test to avoid any distress caused by the noise.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe.
