  It is with immense pride and heartfelt joy that we celebrate the incredible achievement of our late and beloved Humberto “Beto” Torres, Ph.D., who has been posthumously honored as the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) Region 20 High School Assistant Principal of the Year. This prestigious award is a testament to Beto’s unwavering dedication, inspirational leadership, and the profound impact he had on our Uvalde CISD school community.
  Beto’s commitment to education and genuine care for every student and staff member was evident in all his endeavors. He fostered a nurturing and inclusive environment, always going above and beyond to ensure everyone felt supported and valued. His innovative approaches to education and his ability to personally connect with students and staff have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us.
  Though Beto is no longer with us, his spirit and contributions will never be forgotten. This well-deserved recognition is a beautiful reminder of the remarkable person he was and the difference he made in so many lives. Congratulations, Beto! Your legacy lives on, and we are forever grateful for your indelible mark on our hearts and our community.
