Picture of the Day: Train tag-art seen on a boxcar near Knippa, Texas

by Michael Robinson | Uvalde Hesperian

With the Union Pacific Rail Lines running near Uvalde and along Highway 90, there are numerous opportunities to see a variety of train tag art painted on boxcars.

Oftentimes using heavily stylized fonts and letters that seem to spell some cryptic word, these examples of outlaw art are often seen especially when a train is stopped on a parallel set of tracks allowing for another train to pass.

This boxcar has the word, “FLOW” painted in 10,000 pt size (wild estimate). The saying, “Go with the flow” comes to mind or perhaps the artist was once a systems analyst spending years creating “flow charts”

before quitting.
