KHOU.com- Houston reports that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is appealing a November 30 Judge’s order compelling the Texas Department of Public Safety to release law enforcement records relating to the May 24th, 2022 Robb School shooting. Texas State Senator Roland Gutierrez responds to Paxton’s appeal saying the move prolongs the Uvalde cover-up.

KHOU reported the following: “On Nov. 30, a Travis County state district judge ordered DPS to release the Uvalde records, more than a year after a group of news organizations – including KVUE’s parent company, TEGNA – sued for access. The judge ordered DPS to fulfill 28 records requests filed by the news organizations, subject to redactions like police officers’ personal information and blurring the faces of minor victims in crime scene photos.”

KHOU vites that the Texas Tribune reported the 48th District District Attorney Christina Mitchell has requested Texas DPS withhold the records

In a Press Release received from the the Office of Senator Roland Gutierrez, it reads:

” TEXAS – Today, Attorney General Ken Paxton appealed a judgment ordering the Texas Department of Public Safety to turn over records related to the 2022 Robb Elementary massacre in Uvalde, Texas.

State Senator Roland Gutierrez, who represents Uvalde and is a candidate for the U.S. Senate issued a statement condemning the Attorney General.

“Disgraced and corrupted Ken Paxton is fighting the release of these records to help cover up for Steve McCraw and the failures of DPS. Texas Republicans are working overtime to keep Texans in the dark about what really happened in Uvalde. Uvalde families and the Texas public continue to be scammed about the neglect of rural Texas and loose gun laws.

“Two teachers and 19 innocent kids were braver than all 91 DPS troopers on scene that day – and every single family member continues to show the courage and grit to fight these cowardly politicians, who hide behind lagging investigations and refuse to fix the gun violence issue that is plaguing this country. I am confident the Attorney General and DPS will lose this appeal, and their failure will be plain as day for all to see.”
