Commentary: The Gift of New Tires for Christmas!

If you’re not sure what to give your wife or husband for Christmas that will be a big hit under the Christmas Tree, may I suggest: New Tires?

Living out in the rural area where many roads have potholes and many who have trucks,  like to drive down gravel, caliche or dirt roads, life is hard on tires.

While for men, a 14 karat gold necklace or diamond ring might be the default Christmas gift when you say your wife’s girlfriend, or significant other’s name, it’s likely not going to make her eyes sparkle and her face beam with joy like it may have in the past: just saying.

Forget names like Gucci, Louis Viutton, Kate Spade and start thinking about Goodyear, Pirelli, Firestone, and Cooper Tires.

Who wouldn’t want some off road truck tires with a lot of tread on them under the Christmas tree?  There are several local tire stores in Uvalde which means you can shop locally. Some tire stores might even offer free gift wrapping if you buy a set of four.

If you’re looking for a gift for your husband or beau, off road tires are an amazing gift he will love. Forget that 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle he’s been hinting around about. Boys will be boys and like in the movie, A Christmas Story, he might shoot his eye out or worse. Ladies if you really want to go all in, arrange to jack his truck up to provide more off road clearance on those back roads and if he doesn’t have one.

Performance Plus Tires posted the following on their website: “There are a couple ways to buy new tires, but gift tires will almost assuredly be appreciated. If you order new tires online, be sure to have them shipped well ahead of time so they can be wrapped – they’ll take up a lot of room in the gift pile – and include a gift card for mounting and balancing charges. Of course, you could order new wheels and tires already mounted and balanced, saving that step and making for a heavy gift this season! On the other hand, you could work out a deal with a local tire retailer, and give a much smaller gift: a voucher for new tires mounted and balanced.

Giving new tires as a gift shows that you care about the person, which is the greatest gift of all. New tires can be a great gift, a practical way to show that you care for someone. “

The smell of new tire rubber along with the smell of a freshly cut cedar or pine Christmas Tree in your living room make an unbeatable fragrance combination.  More than likely, once those new tires are mounted on your significant other’s truck, their Facebook page and Tik Tok account will likely have tons of pictures on the thoughtful gift you have him or her.
