Children and adults could be seen wearing halloween costumes filled the sidewalks along East Nopal Street around 5:45 PM. Many homeowners decorated their respective houses with jack-o-lanterns, and a variety of black and orange lights and other decorations. Some residents had tables set up near the sidewalks with bowls of candy to give out.

The area near the Knippa Volunteer Fire Department Station and the field owned by the Uvalde County Farmers Coop was filled with cars participating in the community’s Trunk or Treat event. The Knippa Volunteer Fire Department gave out candy and converted the fire station into a haunted house. The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office featured its new mobile command unit recently acquired through a Federal Grant. Attached to the trailer was a truck the department purchased that was seized as part of a human trafficking bust.

At TXN Bank, bank staff dressed and in between processing deposits, withdrawals and arranging loans, found time to dress up and have some Halloween fun.

On the Uvalde Downtown Plaza, a praise band was performing in front of a handful of people for its weekly worship on the plaza event.
