by Michael Robinson | Uvalde Hesperian

Uvalde City Council meeting tonight at 6:00PM at City Hall on the 2nd floor.

The City Council will consider and act on two previously tabled agenda items: 1. Renewal of the Uvalde Convention and Visitors Bureau Contract and 2. Consider and act on amending the City Cemetery ordinances and pricing. At the previous City Council meeting the council was looking to dramatically increase the prices of Cemetery plots.

At the previous City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 12th, former Mayor George Garza pleaded with the City not to raise the rates citing many poor people in Uvalde. A Council official stated that the prices are much lower than other nearby municipalities. Also under consideration are the types of headstones that will be allowed.
