Peace Ministries Founder and President Emma Trimble spoke to the Uvalde County Commissioners Court today prior to the 2023-2034 County Budget vote asking for financial support for the Parent Project

Trimble presented the Parent Project to the Uvalde City Council on July 25th requesting funding from the City.  According to Trimble, Mayor Don McLaughlin has shown support for the effort.  The Parent Project website states the following: “Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior” is an award-winning intervention model addressing the most destructive of adolescent behaviors. We know of no other program that addresses it all: truancy, drugs, runaways, media, early teen sex, violence, gangs . . . Parent Project Senior promises concrete answers for every parent question asked.”

In her address at this morning’s Uvalde County Commissioners. She asked that the County partner with the City to bring the Parent Project to Uvalde.

Trimble stated while there is currently a lot of counseling services available to parents and students, something more than the clinical approach addressing mental health is needed as she claims parents need tools and training for dealing with troubled teens.
