AUSTIN, TEXAS – Senator Roland Gutierrez commended today’s ruling against Operation Lone Star.
“The cruel and inhumane border policies endorsed by Ted Cruz have killed children and separated families. Today, the buoys supported by Cruz were rejected by a federal judge. The federal judge’s ruling against Operation Lone Star is a necessary step towards justice, shedding light on inhumane and cruel practices that have no place in our society,” Senator Gutierrez declared.
“The work is far from over. Cruz and other politicians, whose only goal seems to be wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on hurting people they don’t like, will try to keep these buoys up as long as they can. They would rather hurt immigrants than fix the real issues that Texans face.”
“Drowning women and children at the border isn’t a policy. It is cruelty and insanity. The court’s ruling is a step towards justice, but now we must see action. This whole stunt must end right now.”
