Dove Hunters flock to area Texas ranches

If you live outside of town near any fields, you are likely to hear the sound of muffled pops early in the morning as many dove hunters are out just before sunrise.

Dove season officially began Friday, September 1st for hunting locations North of Highway 90.

The Uvalde Hesperian spoke to a representative at Salt Creek Ranch located just East of Knippa on the northside of U.S. Highway where a large banner can be seen advertising

Dove Hunting.  Friday and Saturday, Salt Creek Ranch reported over a 100 dove hunters who hunted on Friday, September 1st and Saturday, September 2nd.

The ranch has recently been purchased and is under new ownership.
