After Monday Night’s August 28th closed executive session, the Uvalde CISD board members moved to begin the search for a new Superintendent.

Uvalde CISD Superintendent Gary Patterson was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Uvalde’s weekly noon meeting held on Thursday, August 31st at Noon where he announced the decision.

The district sent out this press release to media outlets requesting community input on the search:

“UCISD Superintendent Qualities and Qualifications Survey

The Education Service Center, Region 20, and Uvalde CISD are searching for an educational leader to serve as the Superintendent of Schools. The Uvalde CISD Board of Trustees seeks a qualified and experienced individual who can lead our district to success and continue providing excellent education for our students.

An essential part of the search for a Superintendent of Schools is to receive input from the community about what qualities and qualifications you would like to see in our next Superintendent. Please provide your survey responses on or before Friday, September 15th. The Uvalde CISD Board of Trustees will consider the information gathered in response to this survey to help identify potential interview candidates.
