SWTJC Celebrates Uvalde Students’ Academic Excellence with the 2023 President’s List and dean’s list

Uvalde, TX, July 12, 2023 – Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC) President Dr. Hector Gonzales and April Ruhmann, Dean of Applied Sciences and Liberal Arts, proudly recognize the exceptional academic achievements of Uvalde students during the 2023 spring semester. These dedicated students have been named to the highly esteemed President‘s List and Dean’s List, earning well-deserved recognition for their outstanding scholastic performance. 

  The president’s list, a prestigious honor, commends full-time students who maintained an exceptional 4.0-grade-point average (GPA) throughout the semester. Among the notable Uvalde students on this prestigious list are Mauricio Alejandro, Elizabeth Amaya, Valerie Ayala, Andrea Castro, Steven Chapa, David De Anda, Elizabeth De Leon, Dillon Espadas, Baylee Grissom, Caitlynn Massey, Shannon Muniz, Trinity Ogburn, Christian Perez, Kaydence Rodriguez, Chelsy Sanchez, Yazmin Sanchez Rodriguez, Arely Torres, Azenett Vasquez, Ava Vaughan and Christian Vazquez. 

  Equally remarkable, the dean’s list recognizes students who maintained a commendable GPA of at least 3.6 throughout the semester. Uvalde students who have achieved this distinction include Kylie Bomer, Aidan Burt, Hailey Cook, Emily Cruz, Donavan Davila, Haley Garcia, Dayanara Garza, Isela Garza, Jaclyn Gonzales, Nicholas Gonzales, Robert Guerrero Jr., David Hernandez, Stewart Hohman, Caroline Lacson, Sofia Lara, Brooke Long, Grace Luce, Michelle Munguia, Natalee Rangel, Kylee Reid, Toby Resma, Dalisha Rodriguez, Dylan Sieckenius, Noah Smith, Daniel Stratton, Cashlyn Varnon, Sabrina Webb, and Pamela Yanez. 

  Dr. Gonzales commended these remarkable students, saying, “We are immensely proud of our Uvalde students who have achieved such remarkable academic success. Their commitment to excellence is truly inspiring and reflects their dedication to their studies.
