Saturday evening on July 1st at approximately 5:45-6:00 PM several persons were injured in a fight on a remote area of the Frio River between the Kenneth Arthur /Frio Country Crossing and Neals Crossing at the 1300 block of CR 348. As a result of the altercation, one man sustained a serious eye injury resulting in the loss of an eye.

According to Uvalde County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon McCutchen, the Sheriff’s Office needs witnesses, video or anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the area with information about the incident.

“A criminal investigation is being conducted, which is a review of the actions taken by all individuals involved. While I think an arrest is an immediate satisfaction, we are not looking for immediate satisfaction but
looking for long term justice for whoever was wronged.

While we are still early in the investigation, I will not speculate as to any gang affiliation by any person involved.

Anyone who may have witnessed or heard anything, please contact
us at the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office (830) 278-4111 or Uvalde Police Dispatch (830) 278-4111,” McCutchen said.
