DEL RIO – THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on June 28, 2023, at approximately 7:21 p.m., on US 83 approximately 1 south of Uvalde Tx in Uvalde County.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 gray Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on US 83. A 2023 blue Ford Bronco sport utility vehicle was traveling southbound on US 83. The Chevrolet Silverado was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control and began to spin several times.

Due to injuries sustained the driver of the gray Chevrolet Silverado, Javier Garza, 23, was pronounced deceased on scene.
Driver of the, blue Ford Bronco Jacqueline, 28 is in critical condition and was Life flight to University Hospital in San Antonio Tx, the other three passengers from the Ford Bronco were transported to Uvalde Hospital with Non- Life Threating injuries. All drivers and passengers were from Uvalde Tx, DPS Troopers continue to investigate this fatal crash.
