Uvalde Honey Festival names Varnon as Festival Queen with Munoz as Festival Princess

Friday Night June 9th, Cashyln Varnon was named Uvalde Honey Festival Queen and Kimberly Munoz as the Festival Princess.

According to information about the Pageant posted on the Main Street Uvalde website,  The 2023 Honey Festival Pageant was sponsored by The Good Eggs and a Honey Festival Queen would receive a $1000 scholarship with the Honey Festival Princess receiving a $500 scholorship. Honey Queen candidates must be between 16-18 years of age as of June 1, 2023

Additional requirements for respective pageant candidates include the following:

  1. Reside in Uvalde County, Texas
  2. Have access to a vehicle and/or have someone to provide transportation to appearances
  3. Have access to a cell phone for use during appearances
  4. Be chaperoned to all appearances by parent, legal guardian or another adult
  5. Be present at Uvalde Honey Fest 2023 activities on Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10 (see below)
  6. Be available to represent Uvalde County at events (see below)
  7. Be willing to obtain knowledge of beekeeping and honey

Duties during the 2023 Honey Fest include but are not limited to:

  1. Meet & Greet with sponsors
  2. Announcement of Bake-off winners
  3. Present at the 5K run and announce the run and winners
  4. Read to children at the Breakfast with the Bees
  5. Introducing performers
  6. Interview with the newspaper

Appearances throughout the year

  1. Labor Day Parade
  2. Christmas at the Crossroads Parade
  3. May be called upon to appear at events throughout the year
