Monday Evening storm causes Frio River to rise on Tuesday

Summer peak season officially stated in Concan this past weekend as crowds of people were seen at the Frio River crossings. Monday about midday, many river fans were seen heading back home on CR 127 but there were still a good number on still splashing in the river.

Dark storm clouds appeared over Concan Monday evening, May 29th, 2023 bringing heavy rain and pea sized hail to the area. The additional rain increased the flow rate of the Frio River to 48.3 ft3/s.
