Devan Caballero, organizer of the 3rd Annual Fender’s and Food Trucks expects more than 100 classic cars this Saturday, April 8th starting at about 10:30 AM at Andy’s on River Road in Concan.
In addition to classic cars the event will include a variety of food trucks, shopping and live entertainment and activities for the entire family. “It’s an event not only for car enthusiasts but for the whole family,” Caballero said during an interview with Robert Miguel of Uvalde Radio.
Entertainment includes Uvalde Radio kicking off the event at 10:30 AM with Robert Miguel MCing the event. At 11 AM, Donovan Amaya will be performing followed by the Uvalde student band, Syphon, from Studio 3 in Uvalde. Syphon is an 80’s and 90’s Hard Rock, Robert Miguel said. Syphon will be followed by another Uvalde student band, Aneurysm, an all girl band with a pop sound will take the stage at 1PM
The headline band to be featured at the event is Project 99. “Project 99 is a group of locals,” said Caballero.
She went on to say, “The band members have been a group of friends for years…they just jam.” Between the band members they have had 99 music art projects collectively which makes up the band’s name, Caballero said.
The Car Show
According to Caballero, there are 30 categories of awards for the cars, which includes a first and second place for each category.
Of the many car awards, two of the most prominent awards include the Most Patriotic Award and Best of Show.
Easter Egg Hunt
Walmart has donated Easter Eggs for a big Easter Egg Hunt. Uvalde Cabinetry is the Easter Egg Hunt Sponsor.
The Fenders and Food Truck Event will conclude about 4:00 PM
