Concan Fire and Rescue Facebook Post

Concan Fire and Rescue now has additional fire trucks to add to its fleet. The following was posted Sunday, Afternoon on the organization’s Facebook Page:    On behalf of Concan Volunteer Fire Department, we are immensely thankful for the PAFD- Port Aransas Fire Department for their generous donation of Engine 2. Their support is invaluable to our mission, and we could not be more appreciative. The engine will enable us to improve our fire protection capabilities and ensure that we can provide a prompt, safe, and efficient service to everyone in the Concan Community. We deeply value your kindness and sincerely thank you for it.

Our sincere thanks go out to Texas A&M Forest Service and Tim Kendrick for his invaluable assistance with this mission as well.

“The 2002 KME fire truck might not be brand new but it’s new to us. The Engine will replace our 1986 Spartan Engine and serve as our primary responding unit. The Fire Engine has a 1250 gallons a minute pump carrying 1000 gallons of water. This new truck will also carry our brand new electronic extrication tools that were donated as well to better assist us in extracting patients from vehicles,” Concan Fire Chief Justin Willis said.

“We were contacted back in August by the Texas Forest Service regarding this Fire Truck up for donation. Due to the Concan area growing at the rate it is, we knew we needed to upgrade. The Donation went to a program called helping hands where it was then given to us,” he said.
