UC Sheriff Patrol vehicle collides with two other vehicles at intersection of Main and Getty Streets

 

A three vehicle collision which occurred shortly after 6 Pm on Valentines Fay at the Intersection of Main and Getty Streets in Uvalde tied up traffic for over an hour as numerous first responders including Texas DPS and Uvalde EMS arrive on the scene. The accident occurred shortly before the Uvalde City Council had begun its meeting and had convened into a closed door executive session. Several in attendance inside the council chambers gathered near the second floor windows overlooking the intersection to get a look at what had occurred.

A Uvalde County Sheriff’s office patrol vehicle was one of three vehicles involved in the crash. Occupants of one of the vehicles sat near the perimeter of the Plaza. It was learned that no serious injuries occurred from the accident but several individuals from one family were checked out at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

A passerby crossing the street near the time of the accident and observed the accident stated she was shaken up. “This office standing over here was driving that car  He hit the silver car when she was trying to turn this way. She ran it and hit her and she hit the truck. Yeah, and she has all the little boys, the lady that he hit,” she said. The passerby asked to remain anonymous.
