State Senator Roland Gutierrez to Announce Uvalde Legislation

Announcement will be made Tuesday, January 24th 30 minutes after Adjournment

Austin, Texas – On Tuesday, State Senator Roland Gutierrez will announce 4 bills that have been filed in the wake of Texas’ rising gun violence epidemic to increase victims’ access to justice. January 24th marks 8 months since the Robb Elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. In the months since the horrific massacre, Uvalde families had difficulty accessing services, resources, and financial support. Further, due to the local DA and DPS’ coverup, victims families have been kept in the dark on who is accountable for law enofrcment’s failed response and what, if any, legal action will be taken against them.

Tomorrow, Gutierrez will continue to uphold his commitment to reform the extreme Texas gun laws that make mass shootings possible, and advocate for justice, truth, and accountability.
