Knippa School Board approves purchase of a school bus

Among the items discussed were the following:

 

  • Current enrollment at 412
  • The 7th grade Texas History students will be taking a field trip to visit the Alamo in San Antonio.
  • 3 High School Students to present to UIL State Congress
  • 3  Knippa ISD seniors receive college selection letters: Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire; the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton Texas and McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.
  • Knippa School Board is working with Southwest Texas Junior College (SWTJC )on acquiring Title 3 STEM Grants. The district is looking to hire an individual to our school to support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
  • The board approved the purchase of a 77 passenger school bus for $135,000. According to board members the bus is needed to facilitate the school’s evacuation plan.
  • Board votes to approve Ede and Company for the school’s auditor.
  • Board votes to hire Benny Hernandez as the district’s new school superintendent with a start date of February 1st.
