Uvalde CISD reveals plans for Robb School Memorial Site

“The plan is to enhance the Robb site in the area of the brick marquee.”

According to Uvalde CISD Interim Superintendent Gary Patterson the Robb Elementary School Memorial Site was cleared the first week in December 2022.

” We removed all flowers and stuffed animals that had been damaged by wind, rain, dirt, etc, and we let the families know that ahead of time. We then asked that the families come by and retrieve anything else they wanted as a keepsake. After a week waiting period, we packed everything and removed what was left to our warehouse. At a yet to be determined time, once the families have had every opportunity to keep anything they wanted from that site, we will respectfully dispose of the damaged items,” Patterson said.

“The plan is to enhance the Robb site in the area of the brick marquee. A solid cement layer will be added to the corner area at the intersection of Geraldine Street and Old Carrizo Road on the Robb property. This area will display the 21 white crosses, the large wooden cross, and the granite remembrance marker, creating a place to remember our loved ones. There are no words to continue to express our deepest condolences to all the families,” Uvalde CISD Executive Director of Communications and Marketing Anne Marie Espinoza said.
