Wednesday was exceptionally busy as multiple events took place sometimes simultaneously. It was Dia de los Muertos which celebrates the lives of loved ones we lost especially those 21 beautiful angels. Beto O’Rourke held a rally in front of the Civic Center and then walked with a majority of the 21 families from O’Feila’s Restaurant to the cemetery where the celebrations continued. Dia de los Muertos was also celebrated later that evening at the town square complete with several booths as well as music. Uvalde High School had the Homecoming parade and a bonfire which has not happened in many years. On Friday night, Uvalde played Somerset and despite the loss the Coyotes are playoff bound. The 2022 Homecoming Queen and King are Elizabeth De Leon and Jarrett Hernandez. What a beautiful night congratulations.
Early this morning, Lexi’s Legacy Run was held where about 30 participants walked, ran, or rolled from Lexi’s Murall down Nopal, down Fourth, down Studer, down Camp, and back to Lexi’s mural. It was an honor to participate, and I know Lexi’s smiling!
The 41st Hunter’s Roundup took place at the Uvalde County Fairplex from at 5 pm to 10 pm.
