Uvalde Commissioners Court September 26th, 2022
The Uvalde Commissioner’s held their monthly meeting on Monday the 26th. The first order of business was to approve a letter to be sent to the Texas Speaker of the House to request a special session to consider raising the minimum age requirements to purchase an assault rifle from 18 years old to 21 years ago.
Next, a public hearing was called regarding the property tax increase to 0.695, this led to several heated comments by community members. Despite all the pleas, the motion passed unanimously..
The Uvalde County Fairplex rental agreements and fees have been adjusted due to the economic state. The development of proposing a non profit rate to rent the complex was raised.
Finally, some road improvements were completed.
