Three possible sites for new elementary school campus presented to Uvalde CISD Board Members

All three proposed sites to construct new elementary school have Pros and Cons

Karri Brady and Jeff Rodriguez representatives of Huckabee Architects  presented a slide show to Uvalde CISD board members Monday night showing the three candidate sites being proposed for the new elementary school to be constructed.

The first site is located near the Robb Elementary School location at the corner of CR 106 and South Getty Street. It is a large parcel of land approximately 25 acres. Two cons listed for the site is the location would lie just outside the Uvalde City Limits and located adjacent to a hunting lease.

The second site under consideration would be located near Morales Jr. High and Uvalde High School at the corner of Studer and Camp Street. The location is currently being used as sports practice fields which according to the presenting TEA spokesperson would be taken “Offline”.  A pro listed for this location is the land is flat. A con listed for the location is increased school traffic adding to traffic generated by the middle school and high school.

The third site proposed is located adjacent to Dalton Elementary School on Leona Street. A pro for the location would be the continuity of grade levels of the students attending both schools. A con for the location is the lack of shading or shade trees.
