Official Statement released Wednesday afternoon by Uvalde CISD
The initial request from the attorney of Pete Arredondo for an extension of time in holding the non-certified termination hearing included a request that the hearing be rescheduled no later than 2 weeks from the initial date of July 23, 2022. The District proposed to reschedule the termination hearing to Thursday, August 4 at 6:00 pm. However, to once again ensure Pete Arredondo’s due process rights are met, the District has agreed to postpone the second date of the hearing at the request of Pete Arredondo’s attorney due to a scheduling conflict. During the delay, Pete Arredondo will continue to remain on unpaid leave until a new date and time can be scheduled for the proposed termination hearing.
